The 2nd "Gui Medicinal Cuisine" Competition took place on Oct 22 in Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
A total of 55 teams participated in the competition, showcasing their medicinal dishes and beverages. During the opening ceremony, several group standards were announced, including guidelines for recognizing "Gui Medicinal Cuisine" and "Gui Medicinal Beverage" products.
The event also marked the launch of a report on the development of Guizhou's traditional medicinal cuisine and beverage industry. Licenses were awarded to approved participants, as well as to provincial-level traditional Chinese medicine health tourism areas.
The competition featured two events: a skills contest for medicinal dishes and a product evaluation for medicinal dishes. Distinguished traditional Chinese medicine experts and leading practitioners in medicinal cuisine served as judges.
The competition provided a valuable platform for learning and exchange within Guizhou's medicinal cuisine industry, facilitating resource integration and brand promotion. It aims to establish a regional brand for "Gui Medicinal Cuisine" and "Gui Medicinal Beverage", fostering innovation and growth within the industry while promoting the sustainable development of medicinal cuisine in Guizhou.
