To advance the universal and equitable development of preschool education, Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been constructing and expanding kindergartens and actively reforming its systems to enhance kindergarten design, environment, and management.
With 139 kindergartens in the district, including 59 public and 64 private kindergartens, Yunyan boasts 2,361 full-time kindergarten teachers who serve 30,638 enrolled children.
Recognized in 2023 as a national area for universal and equitable preschool education, the district has been honored this year as a provincial experimental zone for enhancing the quality of kindergarten care and education.
Through initiatives like the action plan for high-quality development of preschool education and the special plan for kindergarten construction, Yunyan has ensured a preschool enrollment rate of 95.02 percent, surpassing the national average.
By increasing funding and expanding resources through various channels, the district has integrated resources for educational purposes and established a subsidy system for per capita public funds in private kindergartens, fulfilling the widespread desire for quality education.
Yunyan will continue to enhance supply, strengthen guarantees, promote development, and elevate quality, forging partnerships with high-quality schools to improve standards in educationally developed regions.
