The maternal and child health hospital of Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is spearheading innovative "internet + medical insurance" services, focusing on the application of medical insurance electronic vouchers to provide insured populations with higher quality, more efficient, and more convenient medical insurance services.
At the hospital, staff recently taught patients to use a facial recognition card reader. With the support of smart terminals, they experienced a new medical treatment model that uses facial recognition for medical care.
"With the medical insurance electronic voucher, we can now seek medical care without physical cards. Presenting the QR code of the medical insurance electronic voucher allows you to complete registration, payment, and settlement, as well as receive test reports, significantly reducing waiting times," said a resident surnamed Zhou when discussing the changes in medical care.
By August this year, the hospital had served more than 6,000 individuals using facial recognition.
