The "Run Guizhou" Mountain Cross-country Race Series and the 5th Guiyang Ten Peaks Mountaineering Race kicked off at the Denggaoyun Mountain Forest Park in Yunyan district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 10.
Around 500 participants from provinces such as Jiangxi, Hubei, Henan, and Shaanxi took part in the event.

The event aimed to ignite enthusiasm for sports among the public, enhance the national fitness public service system, aid in turning Guiyang into a model city for national sports and fitness, promote sports-tourism integration, and drive local economic development.
The race featured three categories: the 23-kilometer group, the 10-km group and the 5-km group, catering to participants of different ages and fitness levels.

The race route traversed the beautiful scenic areas around Guiyang, providing participants with a fresh experience while boosting the popularity and vitality of the region.The "Guiyang Ten Peaks" were selected in 2020 by over 6,000 citizens through an internet+ sports big data innovation model.
Since 2020, the Guiyang Ten Peaks Mountaineering Race has been held five times, establishing itself as a flagship event created by Guiyang. Over the years, thousands of mountain enthusiasts have participated in the event.
