Yunyan to welcome China Tourism Day with rich activities

Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is set to host a series of vibrant and colorful activities for the 14th China Tourism Day on May 19.

Ethnic parade and celebration

Date: Morning of May 18

Location: Zhonghua Road and Zunyi Road in Yunyan district

Details: Various ethnic groups including Miao, Dong, Yi, Gelao, Bouyei, Tujia, and Sui will parade through the streets, showcasing intangible cultural heritage performances such as lusheng dance, wooden drum dance, Grand Song of Dong, caitang dances, and mask dances.

Wenchang Pavilion roadside concert

Date: 7 pm to 9:30 pm on May 17

Location: Rigui Square in Yunyan district

Details: Local musicians from Guizhou, young rap artist Ouyang Xiaofeng, along with the music bands and Chen Shishi, will offer up a youthful musical extravaganza.

Encounter • City Wall Intangible Heritage Show

Date: 8 pm to 9:30 pm on May 18

Location: Rigui Square in Yunyan district

Details: Models will showcase 50-60 sets of attire on the city wall in the Wenchang Pavilion, featuring a fusion of traditional ethnic costumes, hanfu, intangible heritage elements, and modern fashion.

Theme activity in Taiping Road

Date: May 18-19

Location: Taiping Road in Yunyan district

Details: Immersive fashion shows will be held, along with a flash mob event, a city walk event, and an urban cultural script carnival.
