A signing ceremony for the science education experimental zone for primary and secondary schools in Yunyan district took place at Guiyang Shiyan Elementary School, located in Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 8.
During the event, the work plan for the project's construction was announced.
Additionally, a ceremony was held to appoint the new deputy-heads of the science department in primary and secondary schools located in the district. A collaborative development agreement was signed between the education bureau of Pudong New Area, Shanghai, and Yunyan's education bureau.
Chen Qiang, a member of the education work Party Committee and deputy director of the Pudong's education bureau, expressed in his speech that Yunyan was approved as the experimental zone because of its high-quality education development.
Pudong will strive to collaborate with Yunyan in areas such as work management mechanisms, research on the development of science education, joint training of science teacher teams, expert guidance services, sharing of high-quality science education resources, and exchanges regarding scientific and technological activities, Chen said.
Wang Qian, deputy secretary of the CPC Yunyan district committee and head of Yunyan, stated that education sector in Yunyan has always received attention and care from the provincial and municipal authorities.
The collaboration with Pudong presents a development opportunity for Yunyan, as it will carry out the construction of the experimental zone, focus on improving teaching quality, enhance educational research effectiveness, boost the capabilities of its teachers, and optimize educational resources, Wang added.
