In 2023, Yunyan district in Guiyang made substantial progress in promoting the high-quality development of healthcare, achieving strong results.
The district formulated a medical care service plan for home-based elderly and organized for 20 community health service centers to register home medical beds, effectively improving home-based elderly medical care services.

Over 44,000 individuals aged 65 and above received free tuberculosis screenings, and more than 38,000 in the same age group received cataract screenings.
Also, 27 community health service centers and one township health center in the district have established connections with seven tertiary hospitals.
Throughout the year, public hospitals in Yunyan provided a total discount of 3.64 million yuan ($504,124.97) through zero-margin drug sales, while 56 grassroots medical institutions continued to offer 14 free national basic public health services to the public.
In addition, the district completed free population-based genetic testing, pre-pregnancy eugenics health checks, cervical cancer screenings, and breast cancer screenings. The district established 98 childcare-related institutions, providing a total of 5,179 childcare spots for children under the age of three.
Furthermore, construction on five traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) institutions was completed, enhancing grassroots TCM service capabilities.
