Community canteen in Yunyan enhances well-being

A community canteen in the Dayinglu sub-district of Yunyan district, Guiyang, was packed with diners on March 18.

"We are a nationwide chain specializing in community canteens. We feature high-quality, affordable, and customizable dishes," said Wang Zhongxun, the manager of the community canteen.

The canteen officially opened for business in mid-February, and set a precedent by pricing all of its dishes at 3.28 yuan ($0.45) per 100 grams. Additionally, during lunch and late-night dining times, discounts of 22 percent and 32 percent are offered, respectively.

Wang said that the canteen was established to provide convenience for the elderly who are not accustomed to cooking at home or may miss meal times. However, due to its good quality and reasonable prices, it has also attracted many young diners.

The canteen offers 32 dishes daily, with an equal distribution of meat and vegetable options. The menu includes a variety of cooking styles, such as frying, deep-frying, boiling, steaming, and stir-frying, along with four types of soups and porridge, which can generally meet the needs of customers.

In recent years, various communities in Yunyan have successively opened community canteens, effectively addressing the dining needs of the public and enhancing their sense of well-being.
