This year's Government Work Report put forward the goal of building livable, smart, and resilient cities.

Wang Shuqian, a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and vice-president of Guiyang University, stated that to make urban life more convenient and comfortable, it is necessary to strengthen scientific planning and focus on functional expansion, service guarantees, cultural preservation, vitality and resilience, and intelligent livability.

She said that in recent years, Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made significant progress in creating a livable environment through the development of commercial districts, the exploration of historical culture, and the transformation of accessible and elderly-friendly facilities.

She emphasized the need to consider the city's land resources, development positioning, and the coordinated layout of culture, space, ecology, and infrastructure. By focusing on practical measures, a more scientific plan can be implemented to make the city better for its residents.
