New high quality school opens in Yunyan

The opening ceremony for the new campus of the school co-constructed by Guiyang and the Elementary School Affiliated to Renmin University of China was held in Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 4.

More than 1,200 people attended the ceremony, including teachers, students, parents, as well as district and city officials.

In July 2018, the Guiyang people's government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Renmin University of China to jointly support the construction of a public primary school, allowing children in Guiyang to utilize high-quality educational resources from Beijing.

In September 2022, the school opened at a temporary location, becoming Renmin University of China's the first and only affiliated school to be established outside of Beijing.

Adhering to the educational philosophy of creating an environment suitable for children's development, the newly built school in Yunyan district boasts high-standard art buildings, swimming pools, traditional Chinese culture halls, astronomical observatories, and picture book libraries.

Inside the classrooms, newly equipped collapsible desks and chairs allow students to have ample rest during lunch breaks, while the drinking water dispenser makes it more convenient for students to drink water.

Meanwhile, outside the classrooms, spacious corridors provide enough space for children to move around during breaks, and the reading racks along the corridors offer convenient reading opportunities for the students.
