Voluntary tree-planting activity takes place in Yunyan

On Feb 18, the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday, local residents and leaders of Guiyang's Yunyan district gathered together to participate in a voluntary tree-planting activity in Pianpo village of Qianling town.

The activity aimed to contribute to the greening and ecological development of Yunyan district.

At the tree-planting site, officials and participants formed groups of three or four and engaged in activities such as digging, planting seedlings, and watering.

After their concerted efforts, more than 400 tree seedlings, including Chinese redbud and Chinese wisteria trees, were planted.

In recent years, Yunyan district has guided various sectors of society and the general public to consciously participate in its ecological construction through afforestation and environmental protection.

Other voluntary tree-planting activities will be held in Yunyan until March 20. In addition to district-level tree-planting activities, each sub-district and town will establish voluntary tree-planting sites that are tailored to local conditions. They will focus on varying goals, such as mountain greening, passage greening, community greening, and green space enhancement.
