Yunyan selected as national pilot for IP construction

Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently included in the list of national pilot counties for the construction of intellectual property (IP).

In recent years, Yunyan has achieved remarkable results in the development of IP, with IP laws and regulations gradually improving, the number of high-value IP rights increasing significantly, and IP innovation, creation, application, protection, management and services improving.

As of October in 2023, the district had 1,700 valid invention patents, and the number of valid invention patents per 10,000 people was 15.48.

The district has won five China Patent Awards, 12 Guizhou Province Patent Awards, two Guizhou Province High Value Patents Awards, and one Guiyang High Value Patent Award.

The total number of valid trademark registrations in Yunyan was 49,866 as of December in 2023.

Moving forward, Yunyan will further boost innovation in the district, implement an innovation-driven development strategy, strengthen the connection between intellectual property and county economic and social development, and provide a strong guarantee for its high-quality development.
