Yunyan seizes moment to develop big data industry

Since the beginning of this year, Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been actively promoting the high-quality development of the big data industry, particularly in the upstream and downstream sectors of industrial software and industrial internet.

Efforts have been made to attract investment in big data platforms, the headquarters economy, and leading enterprises.

So far this year, the district has carried out 11 investment promotion events regarding big data and related industries outside the province, negotiating with 43 enterprises and signing eight contracts.

Relying on third-party service providers such as Huawei Cloud, Yunyan has focused on promoting the digital transformation of electronic information manufacturing enterprises, providing the necessary conditions for the development of the industrial internet platform.

In addition, efforts have been made to promote the integration of mobile internet of things with the manufacturing, agriculture, and commercial industries.

From January to September, 11 big data-related projects were completed, with an investment of 679 million yuan ($93.11 million).

During this period, the total online revenue of internet and related services in the district reached 1.05 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 530 percent.
