Since 2021, Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been committed to ensuring the daily needs of residents, such as shopping, dining, healthcare and elderly care, are within a 15-minute walk radius.
The district has divided the entire area into 29 living circles, addressing the specific needs of each circle based on daily life.
During the implementation of specific projects, the district also prioritizes the awareness, participation, supervision, and satisfaction of the public, ensuring residents can enjoy upgraded services right at their doorstep.
In 2022, Yunyan initiated the construction of 14 living circles, renovated 17 farmers' markets, built six new lots with an additional 4,800 parking spaces, implemented the renovation of 21,211 households, and transformed 2,176 old residential areas and 110 alleys.
Furthermore, two pedestrian overpasses were constructed, and 12 traffic congestion points were alleviated.
All of these have led to improved support facilities in urban areas and the gradual enhancement of the people's quality of life in the district.
In 2023, the district will continue to promote urban renewal. Ground will also be broken on the last 12 of the 29 living circles.
The district will also address ways of resolving inconvenient transportation, improve the sewage pipeline network, and carry out street lamp repairs, to enhance the overall satisfaction of local people.
