To solve the problem of parking shortages for residents and to alleviate congestion, Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, plans to build seven parking lots with a total of 3,840 spaces this year.
One of these has already been built and was put into operation at the end of May. It is located opposite Yunyan District People's Hospital on Ruijin Middle Road, next to Huanxi Primary School, and has greatly alleviated the congestion on Ruijin Middle Road during peak hours.
The parking lot covers an area of more than 3,000 square meters and has a total of 122 regular spaces. Vehicles can park for free for the first 30 minutes, and then a half-hour billing mode is adopted for charging. The parking fee is 6 yuan ($0.84) per hour from 7 am to 11 pm, and a maximum of 15 yuan per visit from 11 pm to 7 am.
The lot will be expanded this month with exclusive parking spaces for new energy vehicles. It will be equipped with 20 charging piles and 40 chargers.
