Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, received 1.12 million tourists during the May Day holiday from April 29 to May 3, a year-on-year increase of 42.77 percent.

Over the break, the district generated tourism revenue of about 870 million yuan ($125.86 million), a year-on-year increase of 65.29 percent.
Business districts and tourist attractions in the district launched a wealth of tourism and cultural activities for the holiday, optimizing the consumption environment with high-quality products and services and stimulating consumption vitality.

Guiyang Incity Shopping Mall organized various themed activities, such as a Dai dance and Miao song grand gala, a water-splashing festival, and a night market, with more than 130,000 tourist coupons issued.
Yunyan also organized a music festival and street performance on Taiping Road to enrich tourists' experience and create a more festive atmosphere.
