The kitchen waste disposal station in Yunyan district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently started operating.
The station covers an area of about 2,000 square meters and has a designed daily kitchen waste processing capacity of 50 metric tons.
Waste can be recycled after treatment. Sorted waste will be processed into fuel, while kitchen waste, after undergoing an aerobic fermentation process, can be turned into organic fertilizer, which can be used to improve the soil.
The station will effectively boost waste reduction, recycling and harmless treatment in farmers' markets and fresh food supermarkets in Yunyan.
