Yunyan among top 100 science, technology innovation districts

Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently included in the list of the top 100 national science and technology innovation districts in 2022, according to a report released by the Guoxin Small and Medium Cities Index Research Institute.

Yunyan has successively issued, revised, and implemented a series of policies supporting scientific and technological innovation, encouraging innovation in terms of systems and funds, and promoting regional innovation and development.

Universities, scientific research institutes and enterprises are encouraged to jointly build engineering technology research centers, key laboratories, enterprise technology centers, and new research and development institutions.

In 2022, Yunyan was approved as a provincial-level regional public innovation demonstration base and was designated as the only Guiyang electronic information (integrated circuit) industry technology innovation center.

Yunyan has also promoted the commercialization and application of scientific and technological achievements.

In 2022, the district's recognized registration value of technology contracts amounted to 2.59 billion yuan ($373.35 million), a growth rate of 49.48 percent.
