Yunyan experiences boost in tourism during holiday

Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, received 488,900 visitors during the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 21-27, a year-on-year increase of 41.16 percent.

Over the holiday, the district saw an overall tourism revenue of 463 million yuan ($68.56 million), a year-on-year increase of 41.03 percent.

Yunyan launched a variety of activities such as Spring Festival garden parties, markets, and temple fairs, giving tourists the chance to experience an interesting Chinese New Year.

In order to improve the tourist experience and ensure a healthy market during the holiday, Yunyan strengthened on-site inspections. No violations of laws and regulations or major safety hazards occurred.
