Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, organized an online youth reading club to commemorate Wang Yangming's 550th birthday on Oct 31.
Wang Yangming was a calligrapher, military general, philosopher, politician and writer during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Yangming culture is named after him.
Gu Jiu, a famous scholar, former chairman of the Guizhou Federation of Literature and Art Circles, and former director of the Guizhou Literature and History Research Center, was invited as a guest to share his reading experience.

The young representatives also shared their understanding of the contemporary significance and practical value of Yangming philosophy.
