Yunyan to actively develop digital economy

Guizhou Expressway Data Operation Co – a subsidiary of Guizhou Expressway Group – was established in Yunyan district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, in 2019.

The company's electromechanical network upgrade and reconstruction of Guizhou expressways implements the strategic requirements of the new infrastructure, and uses domestic advanced network transmission technology to build an information-based expressway data transmission network and aid in the construction of smart transportation.

The project provides services such as upgrades, expansion, hosting, and operation of expressway communication service infrastructure, and realizes real-time data monitoring and early risk warning of expressway operation status.

The company's growth is a microcosm of Yunyan's efforts to cultivate strong data companies and develop the digital economy.

This year, Yunyan proposed that it will develop the digital economy as an important engine for high-quality development and cultivate and introduce 15 big data start-up enterprises and 15 growth-type enterprises, achieving a software business income of 2.2 billion yuan ($304.61 million) and focusing on building a demonstration base for the software and information technology service industry.

Also, the district will build a series of digital workshops and smart factories, implement more than 100 big data application demonstration projects, and increase the development level index of deep integration of big data and the real economy to 58.
