Yunyan district stages ancient garden party

The 2022 garden party celebrating Yangming culture was held in the Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 5-6.

The event showcased Wang Yangming's philosophy in the form of an ancient garden party, allowing locals to enjoy a free classic cultural feast on their doorstep.

Wang Yangming was a Chinese calligrapher, military general, philosopher, politician and writer during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). 

During the two-day ancient garden party, 30 enthusiasts in hanfu – traditional Chinese apparel – accompanied tourists visiting the park.

Guiyang resident Zhang Ying, who adores traditional culture, expressed her surprise that she could participate in such a large garden activity in the center of Guiyang.

"I especially brought my daughter to the garden party because I wanted her to experience the charms of traditional Chinese culture from a young age, so this event is very meaningful," Zhang said.

The garden party not only attracted the eager participation of locals and tourists, but also attracted the widespread attention of netizens, demonstrating everyone's love of traditional culture.

In the Tianyan News livestreaming app alone, the garden party attracted nearly 100,000 online viewings.
