Yunyan district of Guiyang city – the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is stepping up its tax refunds for companies under pressure amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
One of the beneficiaries was CECEP (Guizhou) Building Energy Co – based in Yunyan – which applied for an incremental tax refund in April of 1.79 million yuan ($269,059), under the guidance of local tax officials.
The main business of CECEP (Guizhou) Building Energy Co covers building energy conservation, renewable energy centralized energy supply, carbon emission trading and other related industries.
It is a leading industry operator integrating urban project investment, planning and design, technical products and management services.

For the company, the help on the tax front couldn't have come at a better time. "The wages owed to some employees can now be settled and the aging equipment can also be repaired and optimized, which is really timely," an executive said.
He added that with the district's great policy support, the company's urgent needs were resolved and everyone was motivated to expand the business again.
The financial officer of the company said: "the tax personnel in Yunyan district not only took the initiative to remind the company to refund the tax, but also guided us to apply online through the electronic taxation bureau.”
Moving forwards, the Yunyan district taxation bureau plans to improve the professionalism of its staff members and conduct extensive publicity, to ensure the tax reduction policy is implemented quickly.
In this way, the tax reduction policy is expected to benefit more business taxpayers in a timely manner.
