Yunyan develops high-quality digital economy

Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is working to make the digital economy an important engine for high-quality development.

In 2021, the development of the digital economy in Yunyan was accelerated. The operating income of the district's internet, software and information service industries amounted to 1.03 billion yuan ($154.35 million), an increase of 25.4 percent.

The district's index of deep integration of big data and the real economy ranked among the highest in the province. A total of 721 5G base stations were built in the county in 2021, bringing the total number to 2,247 and realizing full 5G coverage in urban areas.

Yunyan has long been committed to technical support for one-stop government services, and built a smart community service system covering life services, community management, public services, and intelligent police affairs.

In 2021, all sub-districts, towns, villages, and residential houses in the district had set up convenient service windows and stations for civil affairs, social security, household registration, employment, urban management, and health.

This year, Yunyan will continue to develop the digital industry, support 100 enterprises that integrate big data and the real economy, and increase the development level index of the deep integration of big data and the real economy to 58.

It will also cultivate or bring in 15 big data start-ups and growth-oriented enterprises to build a software and information technology service industry agglomeration demonstration base.
