Yunyan holds innovation, entrepreneurship competition

The Yunyan district branch of the 2022 Zhuchuanghui university and college student science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship competition was held on April 29 in the Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Thirty teams from around the country competed through presentations and answering judges' questions and comments during 15-minute sessions.

Bi Yanming, deputy director of the Yunyan district science and technology bureau, said that the competition provided university and college students with a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship and exchange opportunities, as well as gathering bright young minds from the district.

Yunyan has successively issued, revised and implemented 10 policies and measures to further promote the development of scientific and technological innovation. It has also rolled out administrative measures for district-level science and technology funds, forming a practical system for innovation in the sphere of endeavor.

Since the launch of the university and college student science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship competition in March, a total of 1,637 projects have participated, covering 162 colleges and universities and involving 12 fields including electronics information manufacturing, advanced equipment manufacturing, new energy vehicles, phosphorus chemicals and new materials.

The Guiyang bureau of science and technology has established a special project for university and college student entrepreneurship.

It will provide one-time, start-up capital support of 100,000 yuan ($15,000) to outstanding scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship projects that settle in Guiyang and Guian New Area.
