Yunyan district in central Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has a resident population of 1.08 million, high population density and high proportion of elderly.

Creating a 15-minute medical service circle that provides easy medical access for the elderly is a pressing task for the district.

To this end, the district has decided to set up one standardized community health service center in areas with a population of more than 30,000 and one community health service station in areas with a population of less than 30,000, respectively.

High-quality medical resources from tertiary hospitals will be introduced to enhance the capacity of grassroots medical and health services in the district, allowing residents to enjoy more quality medical services.

In addition, Yunyan will open chronic disease clinics and convenience clinics in the community health service centers. Tertiary hospitals will send a team of chronic disease experts and a team of general diagnosis and treatment experts to the community health service centers to regularly offer medical technical support in the form of consultation, teaching and guidance.

So far, 10 community health service centers have cooperated with tertiary hospitals in the province, and seven other community health service centers will soon sign cooperation agreements with the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University.
