Yunyan sets out economic development goals for 2022

The Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has set out its economic development goals for 2022, with its gross domestic product targeted to increase by about 9 percent and industrial added value above designated size targeted to grow more than 15 percent.

Total retail sales of consumer goods in the district in the year should increase by more than 10 percent, and per capita disposable income of urban residents is projected to rise by about 10 percent.

New-type industrialization

With a focus on the industries of electronic information manufacturing and biotechnology, Yunyan will accelerate the project construction and operation.

In 2022, the total output value of the district's electronic information industry should come in at 2 billion yuan ($314.68 million).

It will build a number of digital workshops and smart factories and implement more than 100 big data application demonstration projects.

Tourism industrialization

Yunyan will start construction on cultural and tourism projects such as the Xinhua Cultural and Creative District, promote the upgrading of key scenic spots such as Yangming Temple and Wenchang Pavilion, and launch 10 boutique tourist routes.

It will also accelerate the development of emerging cultural formats and cultural consumption models and promote the construction of three cultural industry projects.

Furthermore, it plans to achieve a growth rate of more than 15 percent in the added value of the cultural industry.

New-type urbanization

In the old city area, the district will accelerate the construction of the Xincheng Wuyue Plaza and Wanda Reign along Renmin Avenue to build a central business district featuring a headquarters economy and high-end consumption.

It will also improve the closed-loop operation system for garbage sorting, collection, transportation, and treatment and build one domestic garbage transfer station in 2022.

Reform, opening-up and innovation

The district will further streamline administration and delegate power, improve regulation, and upgrade services to reduce the links, materials, time, and costs of handling government affairs.

In 2022, it will develop an open economy, cultivate foreign trade entities that introduce foreign capital, and incentivize key foreign trade enterprises to expand into the international market.

Both total imports and exports and the actual utilization of foreign capital should increase by more than 30 percent.

Also, investment promotions will be carried out in the district to ensure 7 billion yuan in in-place funds for newly introduced industrial projects.

People's livelihood

Employment among key groups such as college graduates, retired soldiers, landless farmers, and people facing difficulties in urban areas will be a focus of the district in 2022.

It will build seven sub-district elderly care service centers and more than 30 community elderly care service stations.

In addition, more than 70,000 square meters of green space will be added in the district, as well as three characteristic parks.
