Guizhou Microchip Technology Co – the first company to settle in Yunyan district's new collaborative innovation industrial centralized development zone – started trial operations on Dec 15.
Yunyan district is located in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The company's four integrated circuit module production lines have all started up. They are expected to generate an annual output value of 40 million yuan ($6.28 million) by the end of this month.

A key investment project in Yunyan's growing electronics information industry, the company has a registered capital of 400 million yuan. It has advanced technology and market capabilities in the fields of chip testing, board manufacturing, semiconductors research and development and in the integrated designs of complete machines.
"The company chose Yunyan due to the district's good local power supply, labor supply, transportation location and business environment," said Yang Xiaomei, executive director of Guizhou Microchip Technology Co.
According to estimates, when the planned eight production lines start up operations in January next year, the company expects to generate an output value of 1.5 billion yuan for the full year, create more than 2,000 local jobs and train more than 1,000 top-level personnel.
Since the start of the year, Yunyan has moved to develop mid-to-high-end manufacturing with electronic information manufacturing as the lead industry, making every effort to expand its real economy.
On Oct 12, the district began transforming an old factory area – with a total construction area of 93,000 square meters – into an innovation industry development zone, in order to attract high-end electronics information manufacturers to settle there.
