During this year's National Day holiday on Oct 1-7, the cultural and tourism market in Yunyan district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recovered strongly with strong tourists satisfaction.
Over the seven-day holiday, the district saw a year-on-year increase of 26.49 percent in tourists to over 1.68 million, and a year-on-year increase of 21.22 percent in tourism revenue to 1.44 billion yuan ($223.75 million).

Cultural venues in the district, including art performance venues, art galleries, public libraries, public cultural institutions, intangible cultural heritage institutions, cultural relic institutions, museums, cultural centers, and public service areas, were open to tourists during the holiday, offering optional services.
To ensure the safety, stability, and order of the cultural tourism market, the Yunyan cultural and tourism bureau required more than half of workers to remain on duty every day during the holiday.
As of Oct 8, the tourism market in Yunyan was safe and orderly with no safety-related incidents.
