Yunyan plugs science popularization

A series of activities for the 2021 national day for science popularization of Guiyang and Guian New Area were launched on Sept 11 in Yunyan district – Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – and are wrapping up on Sept 17.

Founded by the China Association for Science and Technology, the national day for science popularization takes place on the third weekend of September each year.

During the event, scientific and technological workers and volunteers from associations, enterprises and institutions, schools and scientific research institutes get involved.

They are encouraged to participate in activities related to peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality, water conservation, rural revitalization, hygiene and health.

In addition, online science popularization activities are held, such as cloud classes and short video contest activities.

In recent years, Yunyan has attached great importance to promoting science.

The district has obtained the honor of being a national science popularization demonstration district for 20 years and it is also a citizen science quality advanced district and a science popularization demonstration district in Guizhou province.
