Yunyan district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held an urban renewal promotional meeting on June 3, to help advance a series of projects on the drawing boards and to accelerate its urbanization.
Representatives from 13 financial institutions -- including the China Development Bank, 30 companies and five design institutions -- participated in the event.
They aim to create a cooperation and exchange platform for the government, financial institutions and companies, to improve the district's urban functions and services and to stimulate urban development.
The district promoted urban renewal projects in 22 areas, covering a total of 244.26 hectares, involving the first phase of the Wenchang Pavilion renewal project.
From 2021 to 2023, Yunyan district plans to carry out 94 renovation projects for shanty towns and old communities, covering a total area of 11.41 million square meters.
It is expected that the work will benefit 76,954 households and the total investment is projected to be 165.2 billion yuan ($25.79 billion).
