Yunyan celebrates China Tourism Day

A tourism promotional event was held in Yunyan district of Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 19, China Tourism Day.

Hosted by the district's culture, sports, radio, television and tourism bureau, the event involved representatives from 134 culture, tourism and sports companies in the district. An inaugural ceremony for Yunyan district culture and tourism association was also held.

Yunyan district is one of the main urban areas of Guiyang, boasting famous landmarks such as Qianling Mountain, Wenchang Pavilion, Yangming Temple and Xiaoguan Lake, as well as multiple commercial areas and old streets.

Integrating traditional and modern elements, Yunyan has become a popular destination for city walks, a popular tourist activity.

During the event, four tourism routes featuring revolutionary culture, ancient streets, shopping and culture were launched.

Officials said that more activities, such as tourism works selection and livestreaming events, will be held in the future to promote tourism in Yunyan district.
