The people's government of Yunyan district in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed a cooperation agreement with the Guizhou Academy of Sciences on March 11 to establish a partnership in areas such as the headquarters economy.
Representatives from both sides partook in the signing ceremony, along with Jing Yaping, president of the academy, and Wang Qian, the head of Yunyan district's government.
Jing said that scientific and technological innovation has become a crucial aspect of the country's development and that the Guizhou Academy of Sciences has entered a phase of rapid growth.
She added that she hopes that, through this cooperation deal, the academy can contribute to the high-quality development of Yunyan and that the academy can become a unique scientific research institution with Yunyan's support.
Wang said that Yunyan district has been promoting innovation-driven development in recent years. The Guizhou Academy of Sciences boasts many outstanding sci-tech achievements and abundant human resources, which will help Yunyan's high-quality growth.
The district will increase investment in research and development, improve policies to encourage sci-tech innovation and offer better services to talents, added Wang.
