Yunyan district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has promised to fulfill "10 good deeds" for its people in 2021, according to a recent announcement.
The good deeds cover areas including employment, education, medical care and transportation.
In terms of employment, the district will add 39,000 job positions and keep the urban registered unemployment rate within 5 percent. It will add one technology business incubator at the municipal level or above and 10 newly incubated startup teams for enterprises.
In terms of education, the district will build and expand three primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, offering 2,580 enrollment places. The public preschool education rate will reach 58 percent, and students from poverty-stricken families will receive free tuition to attend public high schools.
Yunyan will build a publicly-run standardized community health service center and the main construction work for the branch of the district's people's hospital will be completed.
It will also develop three demonstration communities for domestic waste classification.
In terms of improving the living environment, the district will renovate 20,000 family homes in shantytowns and 9,003 homes in old communities. It will also add 70,000 square meters of urban green space.
Authorities will add a total of 2,500 public parking spaces.
Twenty-five sanitation workers' lounges will be renovated. The district will also build 519 5G base stations and upgraded five township (sub-district) cultural stations and 56 village (residential) cultural centers.
Two emergency shelters will be renovated and upgraded in the district, and 195 miniature fire stations will be put into use. The district will also install 15 capture monitoring systems for fire lanes to clamp down on illegal use.
In 2021, Yunyan will build one community daycare center and upgrade one such center. It will also construct 102 new energy vehicle charging piles and implement the standardized renovation of eight farmer's markets.
