Yunyan district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has honored 1.52 million yuan ($228,057) in rewards this year to 12 cultural projects from 12 enterprises in the district.
The projects that obtained the award money cover a wide range of mediums, from film, television and dramas to short videos.
The large-scale folk singing and dancing performance "Colorful Guizhou Style" is a crucial project that received funds this year. The repertoire was included in the "National Cultural Tourism Key Project List" promulgated by the national ministries and commissions.
It is also the only "national key cultural project" in Guizhou to be jointly recognized for eight years by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Commerce, the Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Finance.
This is the second consecutive year that Yunyan district has issued special funds for cultural industry development.
As an innovative measure to specifically support the development of cultural enterprises in its jurisdiction, Yunyan district took the lead in formulating the "Administrative Measures for the Use of Special Funds for Industrial Development in Yunyan District (Trial)" in 2018 to promote the structural adjustment and orderly development of cultural industries.
A total of eight enterprises obtained the funding in 2019, which totaled 650,000.
