American shoemaker Crocs Group donated a total of 49,500 pairs of shoes to poverty-stricken counties assisted by Guiyang's Yunyan district on Nov 6. Guiyang is the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
These shoes will be distributed to medical workers and children in Guizhou's poverty-stricken counties.
A donation ceremony for the shoes was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) during the Sports Industry Innovation and Development Forum of the Sports Industry Committee of the third China International Import Expo (CIIE).
Wang Qian, head of Yunyan's government, thanked Crocs for the generous donation on behalf of the counties that would receive the hand-outs.
