The tertiary industry is an important part of the Yunyan economy.
While consolidating and developing its traditional catering and commerce industries, Yunyan district is also promoting the building economy and implementing a headquarters strategy, while also focusing on developing modern service industries such as finance, logistics, intermediaries and information.
Yunyan is currently pushing forward with the transition of its tertiary industry from a labor-intensive model to technology-intensive and knowledge-intensive models.
Officials say that the district fully leveraging the advantages it has with its location, to develop commerce and trade.
It is moving to create a central business area founded on the basis of the four core business centers: Penshuichi, Zilinan, Daximen and Dashizi.
Moreover, the district is making efforts to build a central business district replying on the its business facilities such as Times Plaza and International Trade Plaza, as well as large resident retail enterprises including Guomei and Suning.
Yunyan also giving priority to the development of the Touqiao-Sanqiao-Jinyang and Beijing Road-Dayingpo-Xintian Avenue economic belts, with the development focus on modern service industries.
The various areas of Yunyan are developing in an orderly manner: the eastern area is accelerating the construction of the Future Ark City Complex and the Sanmadu Industrial Park, while the northern Xiaoguan area is building health international communities, cultural and tourism towns and micro and small-sized business incubators.
In addition, Yunyan is boosting its financial development by expanding financing channels and introducing influential financial and securities institutes and companies.
To date, it has successfully attracted Shanghai Pudong Development Bank – as well as the Guizhou branches of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Bank of Communications, China Life Insurance and Haitong Securities – to locate there.
Meanwhile, the development of the construction sector in Yunyan is also maintaining a good upwards trend.
Officials said that Yunyan is not only attracting traditional companies involved in commercial retail, accommodation, catering and entertainment. It has also successfully attracted the regional headquarters of foreign-funded Fortune 500 enterprises – including KFC and Pizza Hut and Chinese Fortune 500 companies like Yongcheng Coal and Electricity Group, Poly Group and Huabiao Venture Group – to move there.
At present, Yunyan has already seen the construction of more than 10 major buildings with compelling and attractive functional features – including Century New City, Longgang Building and the Huacheng Arc de Triomphe.
Officials said that the number of corporate headquarters that have emerged in recent years, have had an additional positive impact on the industrial development of Yunyan district.
