The Guizhou-Hong Kong Investment and Trade Exchange Meeting was held on Nov 5 in Hong Kong.
Tao Pingsheng, head of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the shared opportunities in ecological tourism, market opening, new quality productive forces, and establishing a world-class business environment.
He highlighted Hong Kong's pivotal role in helping Guizhou integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative and strengthen its global outreach. Tao invited entrepreneurs to visit Guizhou, promising high-quality, efficient, and convenient services to support investment, development, entrepreneurship, and living.
Industry representatives, including Zhou Hong, chief representative of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's Western Region, and Cheng Yan, founding chairman of the Hong Kong Guizhou Cultural Exchange Foundation, shared insights on bilateral cooperation.
They acknowledged Guizhou's strengths in specialty products, textiles, food, and health products, which complement Hong Kong's platform resources and international channels.
Representatives from Guizhou enterprises such as the Guizhou Modern Logistics Industry Group and Hong Kong companies, including the CLP Group, shared their investment practices and future plans.
The event also featured exhibitions and tastings of Guizhou's agricultural specialties, including Moutai, tea, and cultural products.
Several agreements were reached between Guizhou and Hong Kong enterprises in investment, trade, and cooperation, including agreements on six projects with a total value of $200.87 million.
