China Construction Bank breaks ground on Guiyang and Gui'an data center

China Construction Bank held a groundbreaking ceremony on Dec 19 for the first phase of its largest data center project in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area. 

The 11.3-billion-yuan ($1.55 billion) facility is designed to house 30,000 racks and 300,000 servers, serving as both a data center and a big data application demonstration base for CCB. Construction will include data center buildings, research and development facilities, training centers, office spaces, and supporting production and living facilities. 

The project will be developed in phases, with the first phase investment amounting to approximately 3.76 billion yuan. Upon completion, the first phase will accommodate approximately 8,748 cabinets and support the deployment of about 100,000 servers.
