Guizhou, Taiwan seek further industrial cooperation

The Guizhou-Taiwan Industrial Cooperation Exchange Symposium was held in Guiyang on Dec 4 to promote economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland. 

The event attracted over 40 distinguished guests from various business associations and enterprises. These included representatives from the Beijing Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises, the Chinese Cross-Strait Trade and Culture Development Association, the Taiwan Industrial & Commercial Business Society of Operation & Development, several Fortune Global 500 companies, top 100 Taiwan enterprises, and representatives from Taiwan enterprises in Guizhou. 

Linghu Shaohui, deputy director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, emphasized the synergy and significant potential for joint development between Guizhou and Taiwan. He noted that Guizhou's policy benefits are continuously increasing, reaffirming the province's steadfast commitment to supporting Taiwan businesses. 

During the symposium, representatives from several departments, including the Guiyang bureau of commerce, delivered investment promotion presentations. Seven Taiwan enterprises also introduced their companies and projects. 

Liu Yang, deputy director of the Guiyang bureau of commerce, highlighted the advantages of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in transportation, resources, openness, and business environment. He invited Taiwan businesses and individuals to invest, travel, and live in Guiyang and Gui'an, promising abundant market, investment, and development opportunities.

Cao Fengwei, deputy director of the Department of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao Affairs under the Ministry of Commerce, noted in his speech that the Chinese mainland's strong economic foundation, resilience, and potential remain unchanged and will continue to provide ample space for developing Taiwan enterprises.

Cao added that implementing measures like the western development initiative has significantly improved Guizhou's openness, infrastructure, and business environment. Emerging industries like big data are becoming new strengths for Guizhou, creating vast business opportunities.
