From Nov 24 to 26, a delegation led by Hu Zhongxiong, Party secretary of Guiyang, visited Vietnam to promote deeper exchanges and cooperation.
During the visit, Hu held discussions with Nguyen Van Vinh, chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee. He expressed his intention to learn from Tien Giang province's development concepts and strategies, as well as to continuously deepen practical cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, education, and cultural tourism.
Nguyen Van Vinh welcomed the Guiyang delegation and responded positively to the cooperation proposals. He expressed hope that the visit would serve as a catalyst for further deepening practical cooperation in various fields, thereby strengthening the traditional friendship between the two regions.
At the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Hu met with President Su Dinh Thanh to discuss how to harness the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week to consolidate and develop cooperation in academic development and talent cultivation.
At the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hu met with chairman Tran Ngoc Liem and introduced Guiyang to the chamber members. He encouraged the chamber to actively facilitate cooperation in trade, business, tourism, education, and technology between the two regions.
Hu also visited Sinovitrans, Ritar Power (Vietnam) Co, and South Smart Co, where he toured the production workshops and held discussions with the company leaders, encouraging them to actively participate in and support the development of Guiyang's export-oriented economy.
On Nov 26, the Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City) - China (Guiyang) Economic and Trade Exchange Conference was held, during which the China Guiyang (Vietnam Hanoi) Public Overseas Warehouse and the Guiyang-Ho Chi Minh cross-border truck service were launched.
The conference featured presentations on Guiyang's economy, trade, and cultural tourism, resulting in the successful signing of seven key project agreements, with Guiyang enterprises securing contracts worth over 100 million yuan ($13.80 million).
