From Nov 20 to 23, a delegation led by Hu Zhongxiong, Party secretary of Guiyang, conducted a business trip to Singapore to promote deeper exchanges and cooperation.
During the visit, Hu and his delegation visited the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore Ministry of National Development and met with its director, Seah Fang Yin, learning more about Singapore's land use planning.
Hu said that Singapore has many valuable experiences and practices in urban planning and construction that Guiyang should learn from and adopt. He emphasized the importance of deepening exchanges and cooperation with Singapore in urban planning, construction, and governance to achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
Seah highly praised Guiyang's development achievements and expressed her willingness to actively facilitate the expansion of practical cooperation between the two sides.
The delegation also visited the Singapore City Gallery and the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI) and held discussions with its president, Kho Choon Keng.
Hu noted that SCCCI has a long history and has played a significant role in promoting trade exchanges between China and Singapore and encouraging Chinese businesses to invest in Singapore.
He said he hoped that SCCCI would continue to use its unique advantages to support deeper cooperation between Guiyang and Singapore in trade, manufacturing, tourism, education, and culture, becoming an important bridge for economic and trade ties between the two sides.
The delegation also engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives from various enterprises, including Surbana Jurong, Ctrip's Singapore office, Huawei Cloud's Singapore representative office, and the Jurong Innovation District.
On Nov 22, the "Cool Guiyang" cultural and tourism promotion seminar was held in Singapore, during which Hu had in-depth exchanges with key representatives from Singapore's tourism industry.
Hu encouraged them to better familiarize themselves with Guiyang and Guizhou, continuously enhance tourism promotion, and foster practical cooperation in areas such as project investment, management, smart tourism, and cultural exchanges.
The seminar featured a presentation on Guiyang's cultural and tourism offerings, the release of the "Guiyang International Official Guide" by Ctrip, and the signing of the "Bring Tourists to Guizhou" project agreement.
