Guiyang's used car exports shift into high gear

Since the China (Guiyang) Used Car Export Base set up operations last December in the Guiyang Free Trade Zone (Guiyang FTZ) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, the zone has been advancing construction on the base to support the development of Guizhou's used car export industry.

As of Oct 15, the zone had attracted 18 upstream and downstream used car export enterprises and exported over 1,800 vehicles valued at over 260 million yuan ($36.53 million), primarily to markets such as Russia, Central Asia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

The zone has established a one-stop comprehensive service platform for used car exports, offering functions such as vehicle display, search, online consultation, promotion, and data analysis, and providing high-quality services to used car sellers and buyers.

Additionally, by introducing third-party companies to the base, the zone has tapped into a reserve of used car export orders. It has partnered with nearly 20 overseas and domestic chambers of commerce, including the Guizhou Chamber of Commerce in the United Arab Emirates and the Guizhou Chamber of Commerce in South Africa, to strategically expand overseas logistics and distribution systems, overseas after-sales service systems, and overseas assembly and processing systems.

Through a series of measures, such as encouraging enterprises to establish overseas warehouses and participate in domestic and international exhibitions and providing financial support, the zone has successfully developed a full-chain used car export industry driven by trade, production, digital empowerment, and recycling and remanufacturing.

Additionally, Guiyang FTZ has made full use of its policy advantages, transport channel advantages, and comprehensive service platform benefits as the customs special supervision zone and integrated high-quality service resources from various levels of government and industry departments to prioritize the processing of businesses' document reviews, inspections, and clearances by implementing a 24/7 on-demand inspection mechanism for used car exports.
