Nine leading digital trade, cross-border e-commerce, and digital business enterprises from Guizhou, such as Baishan Cloud, Golden Stand, and China Data Pay, took center stage at the 3rd Global Digital Trade Expo held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, from Sept 25 to 29.
The enterprises curated a dedicated exhibition space to showcase Guizhou's advancements and pioneering approaches in digital trade, digital economy, and cross-border e-commerce. This year's expo emphasized the entirety of the digital trade industrial chain, featuring a comprehensive exhibition area alongside eight distinct digital industry zones.
During the event, the Guiyang municipal bureau of commerce hosted a digital trade promotion session for Guiyang and Gui'an, with companies like Baishan Cloud championing digital trade initiatives.
In 2023, Guizhou's software and information technology services industry achieved a significant milestone, generating a total revenue of 85.62 billion yuan ($12.20 billion), reflecting a robust growth rate of 20.7 percent. The digital economy's contribution to the province's GDP surpassed 42 percent that same year.
Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, the focal point of the national big data comprehensive pilot zone in Guizhou, specializes in data storage and computing services. Guiyang specifically focuses on leveraging data to empower industries, trade, and applications.
In 2023, the digital economy constituted over 50 percent of the total economic output in Guiyang and Gui'an, with software and information technology services revenue totaling 83.26 billion yuan, marking a notable 20.6 percent year-on-year increase and comprising 95.3 percent of the province's overall revenue.
