Guizhou's green power trade surges

Recent news from Guizhou Electric Power Trading Center Co revealed that from January to April this year, the trade volume of green power in Guizhou reached 797 million kilowatt-hours, a net increase of 688 million kWh year-on-year, growing by a factor of 6.3 with a rapid expansion in market scale.

An increasing number of enterprises in Guizhou are achieving green development by participating in green power trading.

As an important trading category in the medium and long-term power market, green power trading can effectively meet the green power needs of users and help them obtain the corresponding green certification.

To promote the construction of the green power market, the Guizhou branch of China Southern Power Grid continues to improve the power market system, cultivate a green consumption concept across society and drive the green and low-carbon transformation of energy.

"Our industry requires a 100-percent usage rate of green power in the future," said Gai Chunlei, an employee at Guizhou Zhongwei Xingyang Energy Storage Technology Co.

Data indicated that 46 Guizhou enterprises participated in green power trading in 2023, an increase of 43 from the previous year, with a contracted trading volume of 866 million kWh. The Guizhou Electric Power Trading Center expects the green power trading volume in 2024 to be at least 1.5 billion kWh.
