In the first quarter of this year, Guiyang's meat output reached 47,800 metric tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.6 percent, which is 3.5 percentage points higher than the provincial growth rate. Among this, pork production totaled 33,300 tons, beef production totaled 1,500 tons, fresh milk production totaled 7,200 tons, and mutton production totaled 100 tons.
The growth rate of its rural residents' income continued to rise faster than that of urban residents, further narrowing the income gap between urban and rural residents. In the first quarter, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in Guiyang was 14,550 yuan ($2,051.55), a year-on-year increase of 5.3 percent; the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 6,273 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.8 percent. The income of both urban and rural residents in Guiyang ranked first among the nine cities in the province.
In the first quarter, Guiyang's CPI rose by 0.1 percent year-on-year. Prices of goods that increased include clothing, other goods and services, household goods and services, healthcare, housing, education, culture and entertainment, and transportation and communication, which rose by 5.7 percent, 1.9 percent, 1.3 percent, 0.5 percent, 0.3 percent, 0.2 percent, and 0.2 percent, respectively.
