After receiving approval to export second-handed cars in December 2022, Guiyang successfully completed its first export transaction on May 24, 2023.
Li Xianlin, vice general manager of Guiyang Silk Road Automobile Technology Co, said, "After confirming overseas purchase orders, signing foreign trade contracts, settling foreign exchange, and initiating vehicle procurement, the next steps involve vehicle preparation, inspection, registration, as well as necessary procedures such as commercial permits, export customs clearance, logistics, and tax declaration. If these processes are handled separately, they would incur high time and economic costs."
But now, at the China (Guiyang) second-handed vehicle export base in the FTZ, all these processes can be completed through a one-stop service platform.
As one of the first pilot enterprises for used car exports in Guiyang, Silk Road Automobile has already sold over 1,170 used cars to more than 60 countries and regions, including Kazakhstan, Russia, Laos, and Vietnam.
To date, the second-handed vehicle export base has established a comprehensive service platform for used car exports, which provides services in 13 languages and covers the vast majority of countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
"The number of exported second-handed cars reached close to 500 units from January to March this year," stated an official from the FTZ's bureau of commerce.
