Its major responsibilities are to carry out economic and trade activities of various kinds, promote foreign trade, investment and economic & technological cooperation, and carry forward enterprises to take part in economic globalization. It manages the city’s overseas trade exhibitions and organizes Chinese companies to attend international trade and economic exhibitions and expositions; guides and coordinates the work of international chambers of commerce in Guiyang, and plans foreign economic and trade activities of different associations and chambers of commerce in the city.
