The designated comprehensive supervision area at the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport has recently received approval from the General Administration of Customs, making it the first of its kind in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
This marks an improvement in the airport's international cargo security capabilities, as fruits and fresh products from abroad can now enter the country directly through the airport, further enriching the variety of imported goods in Guiyang.
The comprehensive supervision area at the airport is currently divided into three designated operation areas for specific goods, namely edible aquatic animals, imported frozen and fresh aquatic products, and imported fruits.
"After being approved by the comprehensive designated supervision area, Southeast Asian fruits and fresh products can be directly imported through the Guiyang airport, reducing transportation time and purchasing costs," said Yang Hang, deputy manager of the international freight department of Guizhou Airlines Group Logistics Co.
Guiyang is currently actively seeking investment and cooperation from express companies regarding the operation of the designated supervision area, aiming to attract more projects.
Moving forward, airport customs will work to create a green, safe, and efficient port business environment and support the high-level opening-up and high-quality development of Guizhou's aviation port.
