Xu Bo, chief representative of the Guiyang office of commercial representatives in France, was invited to deliver a lecture on the opportunities and challenges Guiyang faces in the post-pandemic era on Feb 21 in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The lecture was presided over by Liu Lisha, head of the Guiyang bureau of commerce.
Suggesting that Guiyang make use of opportunities to hold international and national forums, expositions and meetings, Xu also highlighted the importance of further opening up, which is especially significant to rebuilding its economy and advancing the city's socioeconomic development.
According to Xu, Guiyang could learn from Shanghai, Shenzhen and other coastal cities about how to make itself more internationally renowned.
2024 will be the 60th anniversary since China established diplomatic relations with France, and Guiyang can participate in relevant celebrations to advance its cooperation with the country in economy, science and technology, education, culture and tourism.
Xu also answered questions from local government officials and business people about business promotion and companies going global.
